how are recertefied computers manufactured?
Stringent guidelines are followed. All units are brought up to fully functional condition, with defective parts replaced by working parts. Scratches and abrasions cannot exceed one inch on primary viewing plane. All recertefied business products go through two quality control checks before being re-boxed for sale to ensure high reliability.

where do recertefied computers come from?
recertefied computers are not used computers that have been in use over a long period of time. Most are cancelled orders and customer return units, others are overstocks, evaluation units, cosmetically blemished products and older discontinued products. All recertefied products are tested and if necessary, non-working components are replaced with working parts to bring the product up to fully functional condition.

do you offer a warranty?
Escada Inc. offers a 90-day warranty from invoice date for all products it sells, The manufacturer may accept the invoice of the end-user who registers the product with a US address for recertefied consumer PC’s, commercial notebooks, desktops, servers, handhelds, options and accessories as the starting point for the direct 90-day limited warranty.

what does the limited warranty cover?
Parts, labor and 90 days of free technical phone support.

what is included with a Consumer PC?
Keyboard, mouse, speakers, power cord, Microsoft certification, Hidden partition on HDD with recovery data, instruction manual and a warranty. Monitors are sold separately. Quick Restore CD and OS CD may or MAY NOT be included.

what is included with a Commercial desktop?
Keyboard, mouse, power cord, Microsoft certification, instruction manual and a warranty. Monitors are sold separately. Quick Restore CD and OS CD may or MAY NOT be included.

what is included with a notebook?
Power cord, battery pack, Microsoft certification, instruction manual and a warranty. Quick Restore CD and OS CD may or MAY NOT be included.

how do I decipher part numbers for recertefied products?
recertefied part numbers are changed from their original versions. A=1, B=2, C=3 and D=4. Example: D70012-029 would convert from 470012-029. Part numbers ending with -SD1 or Sxxx contain cosmetic blemishes beyond what is allowed in our normal recertefied "Level One" standards. These units are still remanufactured to fully functional condition and still carry a one-year limited warranty.

why is the unit still branded as Compaq, didn't Compaq merge with hp?
Typically, when two companies merge, one brand goes away. That's not the case with HP and Compaq, as both brands will stay. HP recognized early on that Compaq is a highly recognized and respected brand with a strong business following. As a result, HP will continue making Compaq-branded products, while the overall company name will become HP.
